Now David Blunkett has suspended David Westwood over the Soham case, he should show the same appetite for rooting out numbskull judges whose failings far outweigh those of the chief constable of Humberside.
The Home Secretary seeks, for no reason other than to bolster his ailing macho image, to blame a shocking murder committed miles from his manor on a respected local policeman.
That same Home Secretary is not remotely concerned that old-school-tie-appointed judges who lack any common sense are putting lives at risk with their outrageous decision making.
Mr Blunkett needs to tackle the real bane of society, deadwood judges, then seriously examine his own record since he took office.
