My postman was unable to get a jiffy bag through my letter box so he left me a notification card.
Twenty-four hours later, I went to collect it at Hove Delivery Office. There was no sign of it. I returned a few days later but still no parcel. A week later, I was informed bluntly that it "was put back in the system".
Whenever I query my parcel's whereabouts, I am referred to "The System" as though it was some omnipotent entity whose workings dare not be questioned.
I have since learnt "The System" decrees that my parcel must be sent back to Gatwick where it will be sorted yet again and directed back to Hove. Where is the logic in that?
Why can't it be kept at the Hove depot for me to collect or be delivered on another day?
This so-called "System" is too big for its breeches and needs a shot of common sense. Is there a manager out there brave enough to do it?
