In response to Chris Todd (The Argus, July 1), he is right, we do not want park and ride.
What we want are good roads leading to the town and adequate parking when we get there. We want to shop and to be able to carry our bags back to the car, put them in the boot and shop some more or perhaps go for a coffee or a meal.
We don't want park and ride. We don't want to drag our shopping bags around all day then wait for the bus in the rain.
What we do want is to listen less to the likes of the Green Party and Friends of the Earth. We need facilities that will keep up with our growth, both as a society and as an economy.
We want more roads, new railways, enough housing where required, more jobs, more offices, more industrial building, more runways, nuclear power stations to meet our power needs and a new football stadium.
We don't want to go back to the stone age which is were Chris Todd and friends are leading us.
And we do want to shop and I want to drive around in my nice German car.
That's what we go to work for
