I was interested to read of Gary Bennett's frustration (Letters, July 5) and comments regarding what he believes his "faceless" councillors are throwing at the people of Peacehaven.
These misunderstandings occur when people don't get off their backsides (sorry, Gary, it's your terminology) and attend council meetings that are held to deal with town issues - your issues.
The sewage works is not being thrown at you by "faceless councillors".
We have faces that appear at meetings nearly every week, including the latest planning meeting, which I chaired, when representatives from Southern Water came and many members of the public turned up.
The meetings are held mainly at the Meridian Centre. We are there, as is your town clerk. We often have only one person at our town meetings, from the residents association. Why not the faceless Mr Bennett?
Why write a letter to a newspaper when you can come and get the answers you require face to face with us? We are there for you and with you fighting Southern Water's plans.
What about you? We want to fight for you and with you. Where are you?
