The most respected names among British consumers have been named.
Six companies were recognised as having the highest-rated brand according to research on behalf of the Superbrands Organisation, an independent authority and arbiter on UK branding.
Despite being under pressure following an attempted takeover bid, Marks & Spencer was named in the top six while Gillette, boosted by its recent endorsement deal with David Beckham, was another. The other four were BT, Duracell, Heinz and Jaguar Cars.
When asked about their favourite adverts, consumers championed Walkers in the food and drink sector with Dove's real women campaign in the clothing, household and healthcare areas.
