How wholeheartedly I agree with A Newman of Peacehaven about the state of Sussex cricket (Letters, July 14).
When it came to the Twenty20 game versus Hampshire in which nine batsmen contributed eight runs while Chris Adams watched from the other end, how very true.
Sussex fans must have gone pink with embarrassment, especially as this followed three years of mediocrity at attempting to play the one-day game.
Peter Moores must now face the truth - this is the worst one-day side Sussex have ever had.
And if the Sussex batsmen don't improve, they will certainly be relegated from the first division in the four-day game.
Exempt from any criticism are Ward, Adams, Mushtaq and Lewry. If there was a transfer system, most of the rest of the squad would be on the list.
