Lewes gave a trial to former Charlton reserve Simon Jackson as they suffered a third pre-season defeat in as many games.
Jackson, who was released by the Addicks in the summer, played the first half as the Rooks lost 3-2 to County League side Ringmer in the Chandlers Cup.
Ringmer won with goals from Dominic Shepherd (2) and Gareth Green, while Barrington Belgrave and Luke Cornwall replied.
Defender Max Hustwick completed his move to Lewes from Kingstonian before the game.
Saturday's friendly between Lewes and the Ghana National team has been cancelled. Bognor's match against Slough is also off.
