On the way to RSCH A&E with my father, I saw a notice in the ambulance saying its staff would be "protected from abuse and attack."
He was seen immediately by doctors and nurses, who addressed him respectfully (he is 94) and took the utmost trouble. One nurse whispered to another: "It's okay, he's nice."
When we left, I asked for a comment card to say "thank you". It was addressed to the complaints department. What a pity staff at the Sussex County have come to expect abuse, attack and complaints from patients.
I would like to award A&E three stars for their help to us.
