I refer to Mrs C Burchell's excellent letter (The Argus, June 16).
We are losing at an alarming rate the history and heritage of Brighton and Hove purely because of greed, commercial property development, money and an attitude history does not count for anything anymore.
In my case, as custodian of a superb regency chapel, I am trying to establish it as an education aid for children, a tourist attraction for residents and visitors, not forgetting it is still a consecrated building - a difficult assignment but an appropriate one for the building. I have developed tours to educate people as to what these buildings are.
Mrs Burchell is not alone in what she believes. Surely a beautiful building such as Stanmer House should not go with the "loft apartment" school of thought which has hit Brighton and Hove like a plague in recent years?
