The growth of a US-style litigation culture is seen as a greater threat to businesses in the South-East than the cooling property market.
Fluctuating interest rates, falling confidence and increasing EU powers also paled against the threat of being taken to the cleaners.
The study by asset management group Axa revealed more than a third of the senior executives interviewed from the South-East were being sued by employees.
As well as sexual discrimination, unfair dismissal and health and safety, new concerns were also coming to the fore, according to the findings. A Scottish woman recently won an out-of court-settlement from her employer after her accent was continually impersonated by her supervisor.
