Laughter may be infectious but it's not the only bug caught by the cast of a well-known comedy show.
Amid the jokes, witty songs, scripts and impersonations, members of the Treason Show have been struck down by love, with three couples preparing to tie the knot.
Alastair Kerr and Zara Plessard, two regular performers of the sell-out monthly show at Brighton's Komedia, will soon be enjoying their honeymoon after their nuptials today.
They will be closely followed by leading cast members Mark Brailsford and Carol Kentish, who walk down the aisle next month.
Performer Pip Henderson was so impressed by the banter of writer Mark Hudson she agreed to marry him, while comic actress Sophie Jerrold has also fallen for the charms of script editor Simon Hardeman.
Carol, 30, and Mark, 39, fell for each other at her first audition for the show three years ago.
Carol, who comes from Surrey, said: "I think every woman likes a man who can make them laugh and Mark makes me laugh from the moment he gets up in the morning to when he crashes out at night.
"The whole team is working in an intimate atmosphere so it is not surprising everyone becomes so close."
Mark, who raises a laugh by always briefly appearing naked in the Treason Show, said: "Our relationship could not be a success without humour.
"Even at the breakfast table when we go through the newspapers we are thinking of gags."
The couple already work well together doing impersonations of Posh and Becks, Tony and Cherie Blair, Chris Evans and Billie Piper and Prince Philip and The Queen. Their mocking of the Royal Family is one of the reasons for the show's name.
They are working on trial scripts for a comedy duo called Bird and Bloke based on their new married status.
This month's show at The Komedia, Gardner Street, Brighton, beginning at 8.45pm, runs until Saturday.
