I cannot understand The Argus allowing Mike Ward space to relate his experience at Sainsbury's Superstore, Hove.
His encounter at the check-outs could have happened to anyone, myself included, who has signed up to the Fast Track system.
He knew that spot checks could happen at any time so there is absolutely no cause for embarrassment.
The computerised check-outs decide where a random check is to be made.
Sainsbury's are entitled to keep the level of shop pilfering down to a minimum, so as to pass on to the customer the benefits of good tradesmanship.
I must point out to Mike that Sainsbury's did not make him use Fast Track.
I advise him to use the slower, traditional method of self service and eliminate the guilty feeling.
Do not forget your Nectar points, as every little helps.
