I was shocked to read about Brighton and Hove City Council's ban on Roy Gee and his band.
I have visited Brighton since the Fifties and busking has always been a tradition and, I am sure, a significant tourist attraction.
It embodies a certain artistic freedom for which Brighton has always been famous.
I have listened to Roy Gee on a number of occasions. His band is not loud and the music they play is of the highest quality - so much so that we hired them to play at our wedding reception last October.
Without exception all our guests commented on the excellence of the music.
If the council continues with this ban many tourists and visitors to Brighton will be the losers, far outnumbering the few people who appear to have complained from "nearby offices and shops".
The council should get things into their proper perspective.
