Since the system for the delivery of letters changed in May, I have noticed two subtle changes that have not been publicised.
Firstly, there is no Sunday post collection at the postbox in my road. One has to take letters to North Road, Brighton. The post office in my road was closed last year so this may be the reason for the change but I have looked at other postboxes in this area and all have the same message.
Secondly, if you are out when a package or parcel is delivered, one can either ring up to arrange for it to be delivered at another time which is difficult to arrange as the post now comes at various times so one may have to be in all day.
If one wishes to collect it at North Road, it is necessary to wait for ten hours instead of the previous four hours.
This makes it difficult to collect the same day, even though the North Road office is open until 8pm I believe.
