Of course we feel sorry for the likes of Paula Radcliffe and David Beckham when things go wrong for them in their sporting life but they are not heroes.
The real heroes are the young men and women in the armed forces who are in places like Iraq.
Their live are at risk. Paula's and David's aren't.
