Almost every day for the past three months, a large dredger has been operating off Shoreham.
Early gales this spring removed a lot of the seaweed in the shallow water and this will have an impact on fish breeding and spawning while the midwater breeding areas for our fish of the future have been scoured by this dredger.
For our fishermen and anglers - don't expect to see many fish in the future unless this is monitored and controlled.
In my lifetime you could catch a bucketful of shrimps in an hour off Worthing. How many now? Half-a-dozen at most.
