Sean Baldock's second leg run in Britain's Olympic 4x400m relay run helped inspire his junior training partners to victory.
Jason Hussain, Set Osho and Gavin Selway, who train with the Hastings runner at Eastbourne, won the event at the National Junior League (South) promotion play-off match at Barnet.
The Sussex trio helped London club Belgrave Harriers to promotion into the premier.
Osho claimed the 400m and Hussain the B race while Selway, also a one-lap specialist, was third after switching to 800m.
Mark Gregory, who coaches Baldock and the three youngsters, said: "They all watched Sean and it certainly gave them a lift at Barnet. They ran well in blustery conditions.
"They all believe they can follow Sean because they can identify with him as he is from the same area.
"All three have had good seasons, running personal bests, and Jason and Set have even been called up by Great Britain under-20s."
Gregory revealed that Hussain, Osho and Selway were impressed by Baldock's performance in Athens.
He said: "They knew Sean had run a good second leg and he handed over in second instead of finishing fifth."
Crawley missed out on promotion when an understrength side finished seventh out of the eight teams at Barnet.
Team manager Alan Dibble said: "We were missing a number of athletes so instead of the usual 15 or 16 we only had 11 in the team.
"When you consider there are 42 places to fill and individuals are only allowed to compete in a maximum five events, it meant we were pretty stretched.
"It was made worse when Tom Stanley injured his back in the first event.
Alex Best produced the best Crawley performance, coming third in the hammer (38.67m).
