I am compelled to write to you about the new wheelie bins provided to residents of Portslade.
The area in which we live has quite small front and back gardens and there are many terraced houses.
The wheelie bins are decorated in "council green" with a huge Brighton and Hove council logo in white on the front.
Firstly, they are not a colour that blends into garden surroundings.
They are also large to look at but small inside. But wait, these bins also come with rules and regulations, so heaven help anyone who breaks them.
You can only put enough rubbish out to fit inside these bins.
If you leave black sacks (even well tied) outside the bins, the refuse workers will refuse to collect.
This will be a particularly difficult rule to abide by for families.
