Gary Croydon says there will be wage bill cuts at Burgess Hill following Saturday's 'embarrassing' FA Cup exit to Wessex League outfit Brockenhurst.

Croydon said: "The FA Cup is now a financial tool for clubs and for us to have a zero return means there will be ramifications somewhere down the line.

"It could be a combination of wage cuts and players going. I have not spoken to the players yet but they will have to accept the situation.

"Without meaning any disrespect to Brockenhurst, we could not have gone out of the FA Cup in a worse possible way.

"The players should be embarrassed. I am embarrassed for myself, the club and the supporters."

Croydon was poised to sign David Soutar last night from Horsham and expects the defender to make his debut at Dulwich tomorrow as the fourth-placed Hillians return to the happier hunting ground of the League.

Croydon is also hopeful that on-loan defender Marc Cable (ankle) will be fit having missed the FA Cup exit.

Meanwhile, Hastings United, who beat Croydon 3-1 in their FA Cup clash, are likely to be unchanged for the visit of second-placed Bromley.

United manager Steve Lovell said: "It is a big game for us. Bromley are a good side but we're capable of beating them."

Lovell is boosted by the return from injury of midfielders Steve Ringwood and Jon Wallis.
