Tony Blair famously claimed to be "a pretty straight kind of guy" when he came to office. Soon he will be asking the electorate to return him to Downing Street.
Before he does, it is essential he provides unequivocal answers to some straightforward questions if we are to be reassured he is still that straight kind of guy.
Was he aware claims made in the notorious dossier and Parliament were greatly exaggerated? Was he aware caveats had been omitted from the dossier?
Did he have any idea at the time that there was a strong possibility the intelligence was unreliable, or that it had been withdrawn? Did he really not know the category of the supposed weapons of mass destruction?
Did he ask the Attorney General to reconsider his original advice with regard to the legality of the invasion?
Did he try to influence the way in which the BBC reported the war and was he encouraged to write to Greg Dyke by Alastair Campbell?
When did he first discuss with Mr Bush the possibility of invading Iraq?
