As a resident of Hove I've been grateful for the introduction of the strict parking restrictions and the no-nonsense approach to the way they're upheld.
However, walking back from a meal out with friends in Brighton one evening, I was concerned to see no less than six officials standing around to watch a car being removed from double yellow lines in The Lanes.
The reason for this concern was the fact that five minutes later walking along the promenade, I was continuously offered crack, weed, skunk, ecstasy and cocaine by numerous individuals. Not one policeman was in sight anywhere. I'd rather our city had a parking problem than an illegal drug industry problem.
Would anyone disagree?
