Spider-Man protester David Chick kept his promise to bring the London Eye to a halt in his fight for fathers' rights.
The rebel dad evaded security to stage a day-long protest at the top of the 450ft Millennium Wheel on the banks of the River Thames in London.
Mr Chick, 38, of The Ridgeway, Burgess Hill, was arrested after climbing down on Saturday night after more than 18 hours. He was taken to hospital for medical checks before being held at a London police station overnight for questioning.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said he had been charged with causing a public nuisance and was due to appear at Camberwell Magistrates Court in London today.
Mr Chick won national fame after his one-man protest dressed as Spider-Man on a crane at Tower Bridge last November.
The supporter of the Fathers 4 Justice group spent six days up the 120ft crane to highlight his campaign to be allowed access to his daughter.
He told The Argus then he planned another high-visibility demonstration and hinted it could be the London Eye.
He said at the time: "I will do anything to benefit my cause so I can see my daughter."
An investigation has been launched into how Mr Chick managed to evade security at the London Eye. Shareholder British Airways described the breach as unacceptable.
A spokesman for Fathers 4 Justice said they supported Mr Chick's protest but had not known about it beforehand.
