I have a far better suggestion than the ridiculous, ignorant and insulting idea proposed by Chief Superintendent Paul Curtis (The Argus, Sept 9).

Instead of hounding people forced to answer the call of nature in the street, invest in a fleet of mobile toilets which could be driven to the places where they are required.

People are urinating in the street because our wonderful council has closed down and sold most of the public toilets we once had. Many of those that remain are not open when they are really needed.

Perhaps it was assumed we would be catheterised and go about with a drainage bag strapped to one leg.

If our local police want to arrest and prosecute some truly anti-social criminals, let them feel the collars of Steve Bassam and his accomplices. They are guilty of gross municipal vandalism and have remained unpunished for ten years.

No profit

How interested we were to read about the apparent lack of interest by the appropriate authorities in the drug dealing on Brighton seafront (Letters, September 13).

We recently experienced the same problem. Perhaps the lack of interest in drug dealing is that it doesn't bring in the vast amounts of revenue car parking does.
