Eastbourne Borough boss Garry Wilson accused the referee of being weak after defeat at leaders Hornchurch.

Borough fell behind after 17 minutes from a penalty by former Tottenham midfielder Darren Caskey, before Wayne Purser sealed the points for the full-timers seven minutes later.

Striker Marc Whiteman, making his debut on loan from Lewes, had the ball in the net for Borough but it was ruled out for offside.

Wilson said: "The referee had a poor game. He was weak and the penalty decision was so soft. It was a home decision really and to fall behind like that so early on was a huge blow.

"We competed well, but the penalty took all the momentum out of us and made it an uphill struggle from then on, which we never really recovered from."
