I was pleased to read vet Marc Abraham's column (The Argus, September 18) highlighting the excellent work being carried out by our colleagues at the new National Cat Centre, Chelwood Gate.
It is the aim of all those involved in animal welfare to give a second chance to unfortunate abandoned animals by finding them caring and loving new homes. This is especially true in the Brighton and Hove area, which has a massive problem of stray, abandoned and feral cats.
I would like to let your readers know that Brighton and Hove has it's own small, self-funding branch of Cats Protection, which is run purely by dedicated, unpaid volunteers.
At present, we have 28 cats waiting re-homing with more than 70 on a waiting list to be fostered with our volunteers.
Should any of your readers be interested in adopting one of our beautiful cats, making a donation or helping by volunteering, please contact us at the addresses below.
