Mark McCammon has played his way back into the Albion good books.
The striker was forced to turn out for the reserves last night following his bust-up with manager Mark McGhee on Saturday.
He responded with a hard-working display in the first half of Albion's 1-0 victory over Stevenage at Worthing and is now back in the frame for Saturday's crucial visit of West Ham to Withdean.
Assistant manager Bob Booker said: "Mark didn't play the whole 45 minutes on Saturday so he played a half last night. He did well and worked hard so that was pleasing.
"He came with the right attitude, which was the least we expected of him. His body language was good so we had no complaints."
McCammon's future at Albion was thrown into doubt after he reacted angrily to criticism from McGhee at half time during 1-1 draw with Burnley.
McGhee substituted the former Millwall striker for his outburst then ordered him off the team coach after the game. McCammon made his own way home from Burnley after refusing a lift in the club minibus but apologised to McGhee and his team mates on Monday.
Booker added: "As far as we are concerned the whole thing is finished. Mark has said sorry so we will move on.
"Like everyone else in the squad he is in contention for a place on Saturday."
Dean Cox scored the only goal of the match in the second half while Maheta Molango continued his comeback from injury.
