The community stadium development continues on time.
The east stand arch has now been erected and provides a sensational addition to local views.
Work is continuing on the other stands with the steelwork going up on the west stand.
By November most of the stadium external structure will be mostly complete and work will start on the pitch.
At the end of May 2011 the site will be handed over to the club so they can begin the process of preparing the stadium for there first league match which will be in August.
The road improvements for the stadium are being funded with £5.3m from SEEDA, the south east england development agency.The work includes
A new flyover at the junction of the A27 and A270 Lewes road to seperate Brighton-bound traffic from vehicles going to stammer park and the new Acedemy.
A new safer access from stammer park entrance to sussex university campus.The existing entrance to the university at Falmer house road would be closed.
Widening the road running past Southern Waters HQ to the present Falmer high School site and the new acedemy.
Work started on the site in November 2009 and is progressing well, the new link into the university of sussex is well advanced and due for completion in May 2010. Both bridge abutments have been built and the bridge deck will be built next. It will then be possible to start on the embankment for the new section of Lewes Road, for the Brighton-bound traffic. The roadworks is due to be completed by December 2010.
