When I first moved down to Brighton, I was in the group that saw it as derelict remains of a building that should be torn down, but I have really grown to love the pier and think it can be quite beautiful. I think its uniqueness has made it somewhat an icon for Brighton with a lot more to it than the new pier.
On Wednesday, the pier was included in a stunt where Tiger beer claimed they would use lasers to light up the pier to its former glory. It was cold and snowy, but still quite a few people came down to see the laser show. While I wouldn’t say the pier was it up to its former glory, it did prove to be quite a spectacular light show where you could see all beams of the structure and more detail than you can normally see.
I did take my camera down but forgot my tripod so ended up with some blurry pictures – but < ahref=" http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1250165/Light-brings-Brightons-west-pier-life-Chinese-New-Year-celebration.html">the Daily Mail had some great ones here.
I wonder if this will do anything for the fate of the pier and if this could lead to more stunts surrounding the pier?
