In these days of “there must be someone I sue”, can you or your readers clear up a small but important point regarding snow clearance.
Is it an urban myth or fact that if you clear the snow from your frontage then you will be liable for any accidents that occur thereafter on the cleared portion and and not the local council?
Perhaps the HSE can advise if I will need a written plan and a risk assessment before starting work.
I’m sure all the well-meaning Northerners who have moved south to avoid the hard winters, will be able to show us southern softies how to wield a shovel if we do not weaken our legal position by so doing.
