A little girl who bounced back to health after successfully battling a rare and aggressive form of cancer has been hailed a Little Star.
Lauren Denny is currently in remission after surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy to treat neuroblastoma.
The cancer affects nerve cells and usually starts in the stomach before spreading to other parts of the body.
The seven-year-old, from Hailsham, was nominated for a Cancer Research UK Little Star award by her grandmother Janet Rogers.
A Cancer Research UK spokeswoman said: “Lauren is a true ‘Little Star’ and richly deserves this reward.”
The awards are for children who have shown bravery while being treated for cancer.
