Campaigners are planning to step up their drive to improve air quality in one of the worst pollution blackspots in Brighton and Hove.
People living in the Lewes Road area will launch a series of initiatives in the New Year to persuade drivers to use their cars less.
Campaign group Lewes Road for Clean Air (LRCA) has already carried out a traffic survey to discover how many vehicles use one of the busiest routes into the city.
They will use the findings to try to persuade Brighton and Hove City Council to tackle vehicle pollution in the area.
The Argus highlighted the problem earlier this year after the council rejected plans for new flats in Lewes Road because of high pollution levels.
The route was identified by the council as one of 18 pollution hot-spots in the city.
Group member Duncan Blinkhorn, 47, said LRCA will step up its campaign over the next few months.
The group's report On the Road to Cleaner Air has already been sent to city councillors.
