Firefighters were called to two separate blazes at a pizza restaurant in Brighton.
Four appliances were sent by East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service from Preston Circus and Hove fire stations to tackle the flames at Oregano, in Old Steine, Brighton, at 1.46am today.
A fire and rescue spokesman said the kitchen was completely gutted by the fire and another blaze had to be tackled in the restaurant area.
Sussex Police are investigating the cause of the fire.
