Councillor Theobald’s comments said it was “difficult to justify using the council budget in preparation for something that happened so rarely” (The Argus, December 22).
I thought it was the council’s duty to protect people and keep the city operating?
Do they not budget for emergencies?
Only two weeks ago they were proposing a congestion charge with the consultation costing in the region of £2 million. The Argus online poll suggested 70% do not want or agree with it.
This sums up how this city is being run. Councillors have lost touch with what is important to the electorate.
