I EXPECT you will get a few letters complaining about the streets and expecting the council to rise to the occasion.
Our snow usually clears in 24 hours but this time it froze and showed no sign of disappearing.
Heaven forbid the younger people (and I mean like my husband and I in our 40s) show some initiative in clearing their section of snow themselves and the ice of their elderly neighbours.
A bit of hard work and a bag full of salt soon cleared a big area and created a feeling of community spirit.
Why do some people these days expect everything to be done for them – and for nothing?
