An elderly woman has died after being knocked down by a car yesterday.
The 85-year-old, who has not been named, suffered serious head injuries after the collision in Goring Road, Worthing, at the junction with George V Avenue, just before 2pm.
She was airlifted to by the Surrey charity air ambulance to Kings College Hospital, South London, but later died.
The 67-year-old driver of a blue Vauxhall Astra saloon was unhurt.
Anyone who saw the collision is asked to contact police on 0845 60 70 999, quoting Operation Hasfield.
