You need more than just fast fingers to play this guitar.

Even the late, great Jimi Hendrix would struggle with the six-necked instrument, believed to be the only one of its kind.

It was built by Gary Hutchins, of Lancing-based manufacturer Hutchins Guitars, and has been causing quite a stir with customers of Guitar Junction in Worthing, where it has been on display for the past few weeks.

Sandy Guthrie, of Guitar Junction, said people stop in their tracks when they catch sight of it in the shop window.

The guitar is made up of every conceivable string configuration that a band could hope to use.

It has a 12-string guitar, a six-string with heavy metal tremolo system, five-string jazz bass, four-string rock bass, seven-string and standard six-string guitar.

The guitar on display is one of 15 made by Gary.
