Brighton and Hove City Council’s highway department should hang its head in shame at its shambolic and inept response to gritting roads and pavements in the city after the recent heavy snowfall.

It was not as if they had no advance warning of the impending snow.

A few days earlier in The Argus, a “council spokesman” was confidently saying how prepared they were for dealing with such an eventuality.

How hollow those assurances have proved to be.

Like many others, I can’t wait for the usual inplausible excuses.
