I am just wondering what the level of complaint regarding our council’s woeful clearance of our streets is following the recent snow.
Most residential streets and all pavements that I have seen remain, 48 hours later, utterly treacherous, for want of a man with a barrow full of grit in each area.
Quite how the elderly have managed I don’t know. I am fit and able and you simply cannot walk through Brighton safely now.
I would also like to know how many serious falls and visits to hospital have been caused?
Is the council going to be held responsible? I doubt it.
To totally neglect the streets and pavements in 90% of Brighton and Hove is simply not acceptable.
We pay through the nose for services that we do not receive.
The council simply does not have an answer and I hope all those injured will follow up with direct complaints and we may improve these services.
Despite what most people think about climate change, southern winters will actually be getting much colder for us because of the Gulf stream shifting south so we had all better get our collective acts together.
