One of the country’s biggest comics is poised to move into Brighton and Hove.
TV funnyman David Walliams is planning to set up home at one of the city’s most exclusive addresses after snapping up a million pound-plus pad.
It’s thought the 38-year-old star of Little Britain is planning to set up home at one of the city’s most exclusive addresses.
Walliams, famed for playing cross-dressing Emily Howard alongside co-star Matt Lucas, is said to have offered £1.85million for a lavish house on Western Esplanade, Hove.
The ten striking white beach front homes along a private road were built in the early 1900s.
The four-bedroom property Walliams is believed to have bought has been on the market for £1,995,000.
The estate agent has described it as: "A charming Edwardian beach house of character."
The property also boasts two private sun terraces with "outstanding far reaching views of the South Coast."
Walliams, an actor and writer as well as a comedian, has recently published two children's books, The Boy in the Dress and Mr Stink, and has been reported to be holding discussions in Hollywood about turning the stories into films.
Walliams' spokesman was unavailable when The Argus tried to confirm the reports he is moving to Hove.
Other famous residents living in the city include musician Nick Cave, comedian Steve Coogan and EastEnders star Patsy Palmer.
Pink Floyd star David Gilmour recently bought a £3million home on the corner of Medina Terrace, Hove.
