Playboy cover girl Louise Glover tried to ram a friend’s head down a nightclub toilet in a jealous rage just minutes after giving her a Christmas present, a jury was told.

The former professional trampolinist, who starred in the 2007 Scouting for Girls hit She's So Lovely, is accused of attacking DJ and musician Maxine Hardcastle, 23, after accusing her of flirting with her husband.

Hove Crown Court was told how Glover, 26, had invited Miss Hardcastle and her friend Nancy Stillwell to the evening and had booked them into the city's Premier Inn hotel as guests.

But Miss Stillwell told the court after the group went to the Oceana nightclub she heard Glover shouting and Miss Hardcastle screaming inside a cubicle in the women’s toilets.

Miss Stillwell told the court the incident ended when she summoned Glover's husband to the toilets and he told his wife to come out.

She added: "The door opened, Ben grabbed Louise's hand and they ran out of the toilet. That was the last time I saw them. I didn't see any injuries on Louise whatsoever.

"Maxine was trying to get up off the floor, she was head to toe in blood. She had a purple dress on which was red by the time she came out. She was sobbing and she was completely in shock. She was scared to death."

Glover, from Essex, was arrested four days before Christmas 2007, following the incident on December 16 that year.

She denies assault, claiming she acted in self defence after Miss Hardcastle blocked her exit from the toilets following a row.

The trial continues.
