An off-licence chain is applying to open a shop.
Mulberrys, which has a string of off-licences across Brighton, Hove, Worthing and other parts of Sussex, is applying for a licence for a premises in York Place, near St Peter’s Church in Brighton.
The firm is run by Chas Majeed, who is also behind Easy Hours and The Offie shops and the Ja Ja bar chain.
The council is consulting Sussex Police and East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service about the plans.
