A man who was slashed across the neck by two hoodies says he is sad that a moment of madness has affected so many lives.
Alex Kostin was lucky not to bleed to death after the drunken attack by Daniel Cherret and Joshua Haugh.
He needed more than 30 stitches in his wounds after they attacked him with broken beer bottles outside his partner's flat in Mendip Road, Worthing, in July.
Haugh, 19, and Cherret, 18, both from Worthing, were made to apologise to their victim in person before they were jailed for seven years each at Hove Crown Court on Thursday.
The attack was seen by the victim's partner Deborah Langan and her 16-year-old son Josh who bravely tried to intervene.
All three have been left badly traumatised by the incident and are nervous about going out.
