A widow is to sue the employer of a man whose bad driving cost her husband his life.
Nicholas Awcock died after coming off his motorbike trying to avoid the van of Ian Fleig on the A2300 near Hickstead.
Medical supplies delivery driver Fleig, 47, was jailed for two years for dangerous driving and banned from driving for three years for his part in the incident.
Mistakenly thinking the two-way road was a dual-carriageway, Fleig drove his van into the path of the oncoming bike.
Widow Sharon Awcock, of Hassocks, is claiming £300,000 damages from Fleig’s employer, Horsham hospital supplies firm Griffiths and Nielsen Ltd.
Father-of-two Mr Awcock was fatally injured attempting to swerve to avoid Mr Fleig's van who had missed his turning off the A23 and had doubled back as he tried to return to his Billingshurst depot after making deliveries.
