For years Maggie and John Moore have been plastering the outside of their home with Christmas lights.
It delighted their children and now their grandchildren, with groups of schoolchildren even dropping by to take a look.
But the couple are now heartbroken after callous thieves stole the decorations.
The display outside their home in Valley Road, Newhaven, included a number of different festive scenes.
Someone cut the cables of the majority of the decorations, which included Father Christmases, snowmen and a train set, and took them away.
The Moores’ daughter Ali Campbell, 39, from Newhaven, said: “They are just such a lovely couple and they provide the lights for everyone else to enjoy. It’s really sad.”
