There are no worries about Christmas postal strikes in one Sussex village.
Ferring, near Worthing, has what is believed to be the oldest cub scout festive card delivery service in the country.
For almost 50 years generations of youngsters from the 1st Ferring (St Andrew's) Sea Scouts have tramped the streets on the seasonal errand.
Special post boxes have been placed in shops, and the church, where villagers can deposit their greetings.
Around December 20 up to 1,500 letters and cards are collected and delivered around Ferring's 128 roads.
Post boxes are located at Pinkertons newsagents, Colmers butchers, McKone and Haynes hardware shop, John May butchers, Symonds and Reading estate agents, and Ferring Dental Surgery.
The 1st Ferring needs a group scout leader and adult helpers. Contact Mr Inch at duncan@salanet.co.uk
