Aly Campbell, branch administrator for the Saltdean and Peacehaven offices of Cubitt & West – part of the Arun Estates Group and recently named best estate agents in East Sussex at the prestigious Daily Mail Property Awards - was the lucky recipient of half a dozen bottles of champagne earlier this month when she celebrated 10 years’ service with the company.
It was back in 1999 that Aly – Sussex born and bred, and with several years’ experience in customer service already under her belt -- first joined the Saltdean office on a part-time basis. Since then, she has also worked full-time at Patcham and Fiveways, as well as helping out as and when needed in the firm’s 5 other offices in and around the Brighton area. Last year, her efforts were rewarded when she won the Top Secretary Award for the whole of the Arun Group, which comprises 113 offices right across the South East.
In an industry where staff turnover can be notoriously high, such continuity can be all too rare - but it is one of the key things that has helped earn Cubitt & West its award-winning reputation for the best in traditional personal service. “I’ve always enjoyed dealing with the general public,” says Aly, “and after 10 years I enjoy it even more, because I often find myself dealing with previous customers. Moving home can be stressful at the best of times, and a familiar face is always welcome!”
Aly was presented with her champagne by Operations Director Jon Lock. He said: “She is absolutely fantastic – not only does she keep both offices working like clockwork, and provide all the necessary administrative support, but she also assists with progressing sales and has even been known to secure sales herself! Estate agency is above all a people business, and Aly is living proof that at Cubitt & West we have some of the best in the business!”
Meanwhile, the good news for Cubitts’ clients in Saltdean and Peacehaven is that Aly aims to be looking after them for a good many more years yet!
