Could Mo Culver of The White Hart, Henfield, be the next Levi Roots with her award-winning ‘Mojooss’?
She is vying with the millionaire who devised Reggae Reggae Sauce to bring her unique salad dressing and cooking sauce to a global market.
Mojooss, which has just won the Hall and Woodhouse Best Business Innovation Award, is on sale at local shops and supermarkets – and the reputation has spread . . . to Scotland, Germany, Dubai and beyond.
“I devised the recipe years ago and it has been a consistent favourite with customers,” says Mo, who has been bottling it for sale for just over two years.
“Local people raved about it so we decided to supply it to shops. At present it is in Budgens, Swains and Taste Deli, with demands from further afield.”
Mo, who has been at The White Hart with husband Gyles for 10 years, is about to create a website to sell Mojooss.
The couple have two children, Katie (21) who is studying hotel management at Bournemouth University, and Will (18) who is at college and a keen rugby and cricket player.
“Mojooss is popular as a salad dressing, but can also be used in all sorts of cooking, including soups and stews,” says Mo.
As part of her Hall and Woodhouse award she gets an expenses-paid trip to the South of France, a cash prize, a trophy plate and a bottle of champagne.
