His son describes him as a “complete nutter”.
And not many people would disagree after David Owen jumped out of a plane - aged 80.
Mr Owen completed the daring feat with a poppy in his mouth.
But not content with jumping from 12,000 feet, he then challenged former British heavyweight boxer Sir Henry Cooper to a fight.
He has now vowed to continue with his fundraising challenges to raise money for people who have served in conflicts.
Mr Owen's son Charles, 44, said: "He’s a complete nutter.”
The jump raised £17,000 for Help for Heroes.
As part of his fundraising, Mr Owen, from Steyning, will not send Christmas cards this year and instead give all the money he would have spent on them to the good cause.
So far he has raised an incredible £35,600 for the charity.
