A dedicated team of police officers will tackle reports of domestic violence this Christmas.
Sussex Police has put the team together to ensure that victims can be seen as soon as possible.
Last year reports of domestic violence increased by a third over Christmas and New Year.
Operation Cranberry will see officers on patrol carrying video cameras so they can collect evidence and support potential victims as their main priority.
Last year there were more than 1,500 reports of domestic violence in the county over the two and a half week period.
There were 648 in East Sussex, 366 in Brighton and Hove, 328 in North Downs, 287 in West Downs and four in the Gatwick area.
