Hundreds of people have voiced their opposition to the possibility of a congestion charge in Brighton and Hove.
More than 70% of our online readers are against any potential congestion charge to reduce traffic in the city.
Readers have also been posting comments railing against the plan mooted by the city's minority political parties.
One online reader posted: “Do it, and see all shop trade die with immediate effect. Apart from the jewellery shops in the Lanes, Brighton doesn't have anything else that you can't get in any other town in the UK.
“And what about the people who actually live within whatever zone they are thinking of?
“This isn't London. Brighton is relatively small.
“If this is a serious idea then it's a very stupid one.
“Visitors - our lifeblood - are already fed up with stupid parking charges. Creating a congestion charge will drive them all away.”
